#EndSARS protesters numbering thousands today continued with their agitations for police reforms and good governance. They maintained siege on Alausa, the seat of power of Lagos State, Ikorodu and Gbagads areas of the state.
Protesters at Lagos State House of Assembly, Alausa rejected food and soft drinks sent by the State Chairman of the National Union of the Road Transport Workers, Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo.
The rejection was in reaction to an attack unleashed on the protesters by thugs at Ikeja, the state capital, on Thursday.
MC Oluomo was accused to have been the sponsor of the violent attack but his spokesman, Jimoh Buhari, denied the allegation.
At Gbagada, the #EndSARS protesters blocked the Gbagada-Oshodi expressway, causing gridlock.
Some of the protesters were seen chanting “End SARS, End SWAT”.
The protesters also shut down the Ikorodu Garage Roundabout.
At Ikorodu, the protesters claimed that they feel more secured with the operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in their community.
One of them said, “Since SARS operatives have been banned, we recorded a low crime rate. Who has now being robbing us or giving the robbers weapons?”
When they regrouped at the Lagos State House of Assembly, they insisted on a comprehensive reform of the police force. !
