President Muhammadu Buhari was hailed by the United Nations Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon, on his new tactics to contain the raging terrorism in the Northern part of Nigeria.
Moon was reportedly quoted in a statement said he had noted Buhari’s commitments to end the reign of terror in Nigeria.
He commended the countries of the Lake Chad Basin Commission and Benin for their steadfast efforts in the fight against Boko Haram.
The UN Chief strongly condemned the attacks by Boko Haram in the Lake Chad Basin countries, including the deliberate targeting of Christian and Muslim worshippers during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan in the northeast states of Borno and Yobe.
He condoled families of those who died in recent Boko Haram attacks.
