Tragedy struck in the Oja-Oba area of Ibadan Oyo State capital as a trailer crushed six persons to death while several others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Residents said the driver of the ill-fated articulated vehicle had fleed the scene leaving the trailer behind.
Complete News learnt that the dead bpersons had been deposited in the mortuary while injured victims were taken treatment in undisclosed hospitals in the city.
Oja-Oba is a popular market in Ibadan where traders throng to sell their wares.
