The National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and a former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu has reacted to the growing Otoge (Enough Is Enough) movement which is seeking to free the state from his grip saying the slogan cannot be applicable in Lagos stressing it was meant for Kwara State.
Tinubu stated this when briefing journalists after voting at his polling unit at Sunday Adigun Street, Alausa area of Lagos.
The former governor cautioned that there should be limit to universal usage of the Otoge slogan adding that the campaign theme was meant to upset the entrenched hegemony in Kwara state stressing there should be limit to copycat.
Tinubu who appeared miffed said, “Otoge or what?, That is for Kwara. Lagos is different from Kwara. There should be limit to copycat. In Lagos, it should be Otope (Worthy of praise)”.
On wide reportage accorded the burning of ballot papers in Okota area of Oshodi/ Isolo local government by thugs during the last Presidential and National Assembly elections, Tinubu accused the media of unnecessary fixation on isolated unfortunate incidences making the state looked like a flashpoint.
He said the brigandage only affected about 5 polling units in the area which according to him was insignificant on percentage rating to tagged the state a violence- prone.
Tinubu who earlier expressed concerns over the late arrivals of polling officers and materials was upbeat that his party will win the polls. He described the main opposition party and his candidate, Mr Jimi Agbaje as a four-year circle candidate.
