The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Dogara, has condoled with Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai over the death of his foster father, Malam Yahaya Hamza.
The condolence is contained in a statement issued by Dogara’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Mr Turaki Hassan, today in Abuja.
According to the statement, Dogara prayed God to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
It said Hamza played key role in the training and upbringing of El-Rufai as described in the governors autobiography, ‘The Accidental Public Servant’.
“The speaker regrets that Hamza’s demise came at a time when El-Rufai needed his fatherly counsel and guidance as he steers the affairs of Kaduna state.
“Dogara further extolled the virtues of the deceased, whom he described as a foremost educationist and renowned technocrat. “Hamza’s contribution to the educational development of Nigeria will not be forgotten,’’ said the statement.
