
Pensioners in Osun State this morning staged a peaceful protest in Osogbo, Osun state capital to demand payment of 15 months arrears of pension owed them by government calling on the Economic Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC to probe the former governor, Rauf Aregbesola for allegedly mismanaging the state funds .
The angry protesters, who carried banners with inscriptions such as “EFCC should probe Aregbesola”, Retirees are dying”, “Pension, Gratuity is our right,” walked major streets of Osogbo, the Osun state capital.
Speaking with journalists, the chairman of Forum of 2011/2012 Pensioners, Mr. Yemi Lawal, decried the conditions of retirees in the state saying Osun’s retirees were the most traumatized in the country.
