Lekan Akande, first son of a successful Fuji musician, Abass Akande popularly called Obesere, has launched a record labels label called ‘’R-Entertainment.
The younger Akande who based in Dublin, Ireland out to rest the speculations being rife about his venture into entertainment business when he officially the label in Ikeja, Lagos.
According to him, two up and coming acts have been signed under the label and are billed to hit the airwaves this week with their new promotional singles titled Pawon and Soyoyo respectively.
Explaining why he established the record label, Lekan said he has a desire to provide a platform where emerging acts can actualise their dreams.
He further stated that having understudied the Nigerian hip-hop music industry for the last three years and having done a couple of projects underground for top Nigerian artistes in Dublin, his team is ready to add the needed value to the industry and place it more appropriately on the international map.
“I started R-Entertainment three years ago. It is about promoting music in Africa. I have been collaborating with top promoters in Dublin. I was part of the team that brought Wizkid, Davido and others from Nigeria. I just felt it is about time I come back home to add value to what we have now. We are not going to copy anyone” he said.
