
Nigeria’s Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo has said that the APC-led Federal Government will definitely consider the resolutions of the last year National Conference noting that there are scores of good recommendations in the Confab report.
Osinbajo gave the assurance today in Abuja at the 55th Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association.
This is coming on the heels of speculations that President Buhari will abandon the reports of the conference. The APC had kicked against the Conference when the former President Goodluck Jonathan constituted the committee for the Conference.
On young laywyers calling for monthly stipends from the Government, the Vice President ruled out the proposal stressing that there were hundreds of thousands without means of livelyhood at all. He acknowledged the challenges faced by Junior lawyers urging them to be creative and devise addition means of income.
It will be recalled that President Buhari yesterday appealed to lawyers to join the fight against corruption noting that graft is the greatest abuse of Human Rights. According to the President, it will be difficult to eliminate corruption if Lawyers were creating escape routes for corruption suspects through frivolous injunctions.
