Rasaq Ajala, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA in the forthcoming local government election in Lagos has unveiled his plans for the local council.
Ajala, a former Executive Secretary of the council, popularly called HRA captioned his social pact with the people, ‘Five Giant Deals In Big Four Years. If elected, he promised to focus on :
- Infrastructure Development
- Social intervention, Sport, Women and youth development
- Education and Capacity building
- Health and Environment
- Security and Governance.
Under infrastructure development, the ruling party candidate promised to launch zero-tolerance for portholes campaign while rehabilitating other stressed public utilities in the local council area.
In his pact with women and youths, Ajala promised to provide trade assistance scheme to women in the community and open up the enormous potential of ICT to equip the teeming youth for better productivity.
On education, the politician vowed to continue with the annual free distribution of GCE and JAMB forms to deserving indigent students within the community when he was in the saddle as Executive Secretary and also institute a bursary scheme to support brilliant students from poor homes in the tertiary institutions.
It will be recalled that Ajala gave out 250 GCE and 150 JAMB forms to indigent students in the area and also supported other education-based initiatives when he served as the Executive Secretay.
He also promised to introduce novel innovations in governance that will impact staff morale and engender prosperity among the people.
The candidate also pledged to build on the gains of peace moves he initiated when he served as Executive Secretary to consolidate relative peace in the council and also collaborate with stakeholders to ensure security of lives and properties in the area.
On health, the APC candidate said he will institute Health Insurance Scheme for residents of the area among other initiatives.
Ajala, while appealing from votes from electorate said; “Fellow constituents, we are in unusual times that demand tested, pragmatic leadership that will ensure that Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye emerge as a great municipal that we will all be proud of.
“Without being immodest, I am well-groomed to deliver on these transformation plans that will unleash the economic cum social developments in Odi-Olowo.
“I urge you to deploy the power of your thumb to change the course of Odi-Olowo/ Ojuwoye LCDA for good forever. Your sacred mandate which I will secure by God’s grace won’t be taken for granted”.
