The Presidential candidate of the National Conscience Party, NCP in the last election, Dr Tank Yunusa has taken a swipe at President Muhammadu Buhari for claiming that his government has lifted over five million Nigerians out of extreme poverty.
Tanko who spoke on the ChannelsTV breakfast show, Sunrise Daily today said it was insulting for the president to have made such claim.
According to him, many Nigerians are still wretched and living in most deplorable conditions. He said if poverty had been ameliorated in Nigeria, it should be seen and felt in lives of average Nigerians.
Tanko further claimed that poverty ravaging the land spurred the call for the Omoyele Sowore’s #RevolutionNow protests urging the government to address the concerns raised by the protesters and free Sowore.
