Oyeyemi Okusanya, a councillorship aspirant in Ward B, Papa-Ajao Mushin, Lagos on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has promised to replicate his success story in business among youths in his constituency if given the mandate.
Okusanya, a Micro-biology graduate from the premier University of Ibadan is a successful real estate businessman who built his businesses from the scratch in 2010 into thriving enterprises.
He is the Chief Executive Officer, Golden Bricks Realty Limited, Cityprime Garden City Ltd, Trademark Premier Garden City Estates and CEO, BOC Entertainment.
The aspirant who spoke in an exclusive interview with CompleteNews correspondent in his sprawling office in Palm Avenue area of Mushin said governance at this critical period should not be an all-comers affairs stressing that men who had thrived in other endeavors should be given opportunity to serve.
He said, “If the best in business, who have managed people and resources to achieve greatness can humble themselves and participate in grassroots politics in their wards then the people shall eat the good of the land’.
Okusanya, added that his decision to seek his constituents’ mandate to represent them was not for pecuniary gains rather to add value to the system and liberate many disillusioned youths economically.
“Look, I have a well structured blueprint of how to salvage the pathetic situation our people especially the youths have found themselves. In fact, I want to replicate my success story in business among youths in my constituency. I will impact knowledge on how I built my real-estate companies from scratch into a multi-million naira thriving going concerns”, enthusiastic Okusanya declared.
Speaking further on his pedigree in business which according to him will impact positively in his legislative duty, Okusanya said, “I have over the years gathered more experience in almost all sectors of the economy, from entertainment to sports and now real estate sector. I will set up a studio and video production outfit where our talented youths can do recording at a very ridiculous subsidized. I will also champion annual talents contest, whereby winner will get the opportunity to produce albums and video”.
Okusanya also identified Information Communication Technology as another veritable avenue for economic empowerment for youths.
“We will channel the growing interest in ICT towards; software development, IT management, coding etc. Many people don’t know that one of the best and leading digital training institutes (The Bridge Institute, Cappa) in Nigeria is located in Ward B, Papa Ajao Mushin.
“I will solicit for support from this reputable institute and other front-line establishments like FIIRO and SMEDAN, which all within my ward to help train our youths’, he said.
