Ricky Stein, ex-manager of the late musical icon, Fela Anikulapo Kuti has said that the messages contained in the music of the late afro beat maestro remained relevant years after his demise.
Stein was speaking on the backdrop of the 16th edition of the Felabration Musical Festival celebrations which ended last Monday.
According to him, Fela used music has a positive weapon of galvanizing the people for change in the society. “Fela opens the way for people to dialogue’ Stein declared on a Television programme in Lagos recently.
Stein informed that Felabration (an annual debate and musical concert instituted by the eldest child of the late icon, Yeni Kuti ) has gained traction in dozens of nations including New York, London, South Africa among others.
He urged Nigerians to visit the cinema to watch a documentary on the Afro beat Icon “Finding Fela”.
The Felabration concert held at the New African Shrine, at Alausa Ikeja in Lagos.
