The residential building belonging to Hon Funmilayo Tejuosho, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Mushin 1 that was locked by policemen acting on the instruction of the governor of Lagos, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode has been overtaken by weed.
It will be recalled that Lagos State Government dispatched riot armed policemen to Tejuosho’s residence located at 3, Sasogbon street, Ikeja GRA last year November.
The policemen who invaded the private residence of the lawmaker who was on an official assignment abroad allegedly locked in her teenage daughter and Son for more than 48 hours.
When COMPLETE NEWS visited the posh residential building last Wednesday, the outer court has been overtaken by weed. The once bubbling residence of the only female Lagos lawmaker is now a junk yard of sort. Our correspondent noticed that the building was still under lock.
A white police van was sighted on the left side of the building.
Lagos State Government had accused the lawmaker who is a former Deputy Speaker of the Lagos Assembly of not vacating the official residence of the deputy speaker after leaving office.
Tejuosho said the building had never been an official residence of the deputy speaker stressing that no previous deputy speakers before her lived in the building. According to her, she bought the building under the Lagos Scheme of outright sales of government properties to interested public officials.
She provided evidence of payments grossing over N100m. Despite the evidence, Governor Ambode refused to withdraw armed policemen from her residence. The intervention of the Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo on the matter yielded no results.
Meanwhile, when Tejuosho returned from her official assignment abroad, she and her family temporarily relocated to Protea Hotel, Isaac Jones, Ikeja GRA. Her son, Dotun who was still in a secondary was seen returning to her mum’s hotel room after school around mid-November, 2017.
COMPLETE NEWS learnt that the female lawmaker later moved back to her former 3-bedroom rented apartment in Ilupeju area of Lagos State.
The matter is still in court.
