Exclusive.. Ambode’s Fate Sealed As Dele Alake, Tunji Bello Solidify Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat Pact
The hope of the embattled Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode getting second term crumbled at the last minute as the secretary to the state government, Mr Tunji Bello and former Lagos State Commissioner for Information solidified the pact between two governorship aspirants, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dr Obafemi Hamzat.
Acompetent source informed Complete News that the two trusted allies of former Lagos State Governor Asiwaju Bola Tinubu organized a joint press conference at Sanwo-Olu residence in Ikoyi where Hamzat formally withdrew from the race.
Hamzat, a former commissioner for Works in Lagos is tipped as the running mate to Sanwo-Olu.
Speaking at the press conference,Hamzat implored his teeming ssupporters to vote massively for Sanwo-Olu at tomorrow’s direct primaries which will take place all over the state.
Hamzat described Sanwo-Olu as a man of integrity who is competent to handle serious business of governance.
COMPLETE NEWS had earlier hinted of a meeting which took place between former governor Babatunde Fashola and the national leader Bola Tinubu where the duo closed ranks and agreed to work together in ousting Ambode out of power.
Meanwhile, governor Ambode has vowed to fight on. The governor’s supporters under the aegis of Ambode Mandate Support Group claimed that the governor had been given a green light to contest.
