Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has made overtures to Ms Olayinka Fashola, the sister of a former governor Babatunde Fashola who was sacked as the General Manager of the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency, LASRRA.
A reliable source in Lagos told COMPLETENEWS, that the governor who has been making overtures and appealing to those he had offended to forgive him called Fashola’s sister and apologized for ‘disgracing’ her out of office and made an offer to re-instate her back to LASRRA but Ms Fashola rejected.
The source said, “ I can authoritatively inform you that the governor(Ambode) has been reaching out to those he dealt with as part of his reconciliatory moves to gain back the confidence of aggrieved party men and women.
“ In fact, the governor called the sister of the minister for Power, Works and Housing who was sacked shortly after he (Ambode) assumed office as governor and offered to re-instate her back to office. But you what? , Ms Fashola turned down the governor’s offer. She said she was not interested anymore”.
It will be recalled that on Monday, June 15, 2015, the governor sacked Ms Fashola alongside other 75 heads of parastatals and agencies. The mass sacking heralded chains of events that frustrated many experienced hands out of government.
