Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has asked the Federal High court, sitting in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, to quash the charges preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
The anti-graft agency is prosecuting Fayose for alleged corrupt and abuse of office while he held sway as Ekiti State governor.
When the matter came up for hearing before Justice Adamu Hobon, counsel for Fayose, Mr. Owoseni Ajayi, said the application was imperative because, “It is legally offensive in criminal procedure.”
The defense counsel making reference to the Criminal Code, said a criminal charge brought against anyone must be specific in particulars.
Both counsel said they had written their addresses to support their applications.
Hobon fixed ruling on the applications for November 7, saying, ”the counsel have adopted the processes filed.”
