There is palpable anxiety among the supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Edo. While some PDP supporters have been rejoicing for allegedly leading, the ruling APC members also claimed of leading in the keenly contested election.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission has called on Nigerians to disregard results being posted on the social media for the Edo State governorship election.
According to the Commission, only results released by it or its designated officials are genuine.
The electoral body said in a tweet, “It has come to the attention of the Independent National Electoral Commission that some persons, especially on social media have started publishing result of the Edo governorship election, such result should be disregarded as only INEC or its designated officials can do so.”
