
The Military Court Martial sitting in Abuja has sentenced 54 Nigerian soldiers to death by firing squad .
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) quoted a reliable source saying the soldiers were found guilty accused of mutiny , assault , cowardice and refusing to fight Boko-Haram in the North-Eastern part of the country.
Five other soldiers were however lucky as the court discharged and acquitted.
In September 12 soldiers were sentenced to death by firing squad for mutiny and attempted murder of their commanding officer in Maiduguri.
The sentences are subject to confirmation by the appropriate superior authorities.
