No fewer than 54 victims of Tuesday’s market blast in Maiduguri were admitted at the state Specialist Hospital, Borno State government has disclosed.
The government said 14 people were critically injured in the incident, while 20 have been discharged from hospital.
The Executive Secretary, Hospital Management Board, Dr. Salisu Kwaya Bura, told Governor Kashim Shettima during his visit to the victims at the hospital in Maiduguri.
He said; “14 critically injured victims have been referred to the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) for proper treatment, while 20 have been discharged.”
The Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Sandar, also stated that 24 bodies were brought to the hospital.
