
The governors of the state of Osun, Rauf Aregbesola and Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State stormed Ado Ekiti to endorse the governor of Ekiti, Dr Kayode Fayemi for second term. The carnival like event attracted eminent Nigerians including the legal luminary, Aare Afe Babalola.
Fiju maestro, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, KWAM 1 was on hand to entertain the mammoth crowd.
While speaking, the legal icon, Afe Babalola commended the development strides of the governor, stressing that the governor has not disappointed the people.
Meanwhile, a mild drama ensued when the senator representing Ekiti Senatorial Central, Babafemi Ojodu told the crowd that the federal lawmakers who were 9 in number are now reduced to 8. A veiled reference to Honourable Micheal Opeyemi Bamidele who is insisting on contesting against the incumbent governor.
Ojodu said the 8 lawmakers are in full support of the governor, saying that the ‘defiant’ will be recalled in due time.
Also former governor of the state, Adeniyi Adebayo said the governor Fayemi had not disappointed saying that the elders of the party did not made mistake by appointing the governor to rule the state.
Adeniyi argued that after he left office, Fayemi was the only governor that has delivered on electoral promises. He urged the people to vote massively for the governor in the next election.
Edo state governor Comrade Adams threw the crowd into laughter when he struggled to addressed the people in Yoruba. The comrade governor lauded the achievements of the state government. He remarked that the feats the governor had achieved were unassailable.
Fayemi while addressing the crowd observed that his administration had done well in the last three years. According to him, that was testimonial to the eminent personalities including the governors that openly endorsed him for second term. He said that the people’s will would prevail at the poll. Fayemi vowed to any attempts to use guns to intimidate the electorate will be rebuffed.
