The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor EA Adeboye has expressed concern over the dilapidated state of the Apapa/ Oshodi Expressway. Due to the bad shape of the road, commuters spend hours before getting to their destination.
Adeboye who also faced the plight of commuter by spending about three hours in the gridlock before getting to the Vanguard Media Limited in kirikiri Area of Apapa in Lagos.
The revered man of God was the preacher at the End of the year thanksgiving service of the company.
“The great respect that I have for Vanguard is why I am here today and I answer your call, I suppose to rest after the Holy Ghost Congress.
Apparently disturbed by the excruciating pains commuters go through on daily basis, Adeboye said, “I could imagine you going through this traffic situation everyday, definitely you need prayer and I will increase my prayer for you”.
Mr. Sam Amuka while replying blamed the situation on politics. Amuka averred that the Federal and the Lagos State governments are at daggers drawn over who is responsible for fixing of roads in the Lagos. According to him, the bone of contention is which party is in power and which controls the affairs of the state to the detriment of the people residing in the old federal.
The Apapa/Oshodi Expressway has become a nightmare to many road users for months. Federal Government had promised to fix the road without success.
