The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has expressed readiness to ensure peaceful, credible and overwhelming participation in the party’s presidential primary election scheduled to hold across the 326 wards in the state on Saturday.
The State Chairman of the party, Senator Emmanuel Anosike, announced the chapter’s readiness while briefing journalists at the party’s state headquarters in Awka on Friday.
Anosike said adequate security had also been put in place across all political wards in the state for a smooth electoral process.
He said, “Yes, we are fully prepared to participate in our great party APC’s presidential primaries scheduled to hold nationwide on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
“The State Executive Committee under my leadership will all go out en masse to supervise, monitor and ensure that President Bola Tinubu emerges the party’s flagbearer ahead of the January 16, 2027 general elections.
“We will ensure that he wins in Anambra State. The Anambra State chapter of the party will vote adequately to ensure Tinubu emerges victorious to enable him continue his good governance and all-inclusiveness administration in Nigeria,” Anosike added.
The chairman noted that the press briefing was also to inform the general public that the just-concluded primary elections for the House of Representatives and the State House of Assembly went smoothly and peacefully.
“I wish to tell you all that the election went very well and we are very much delighted with the kind of turnout we recorded from our committed and dedicated members, and it really shows that we are on ground and fully ready for the 2027 general elections.
“As it stands, we have successfully cleared 27 candidates for the Anambra State House of Assembly, 11 for the House of Representatives and three for the senatorial seats respectively ahead of the 2027 polls.
“The election was very credible, fair, just and transparent to the point that even those who lost went home happy.
“On behalf of the State Executive, I thank the party’s National Working Committee and the primaries election committee for ensuring the smooth conduct of the exercise in Anambra State,” he added.
Anosike also commended the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for his continuous financial support for the growth and development of the APC in Anambra State.
