The Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Mr Tunde Balogun has countered the claims by the Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode that the party has refused to give him his membership card.
Balogun speaking with journalists on Sunday said he had been on the trail of the governor for more than a day to get his card across to him adding that Ambode didn’t pick his calls having called repeatedly. The party chairman said he had informed the governor’s ADC to relay his message to his principal.
He said, “It is unfortunate that the governor has refused to pick my calls. I have his card here. Few hours ago, I sent him text message. I have told his his ADC to get te message across to him. I will still continue to make efforts. I have made efforts to get this card to him in the last 24 hours.
“The cards were brought about four days ago and they were sorted according to wards so that every registered party member will participate. After getting it out, I called to him but there were no response in the last 24 hours.
It will be recalled that the embattled governor had claimed at world press conference on Sunday that the party had refused to give him his membership card.
