A thirty-eight year old Pastor, Mr Peter Adeyemi has committed suicide inside his apartment at 1, Olafisoye Street, Obawole in Ifako Ijaiye area of Lagos State.
Adeyemi’s lifeless body was discovered around 7pm today.
According to neighbours, the body of Adeyemi was found closed to the door when concerned residents broke into his two bedrooms apartment.
It was learnt that the deceased might have poisoned himself as there were no cuts on his body.
The wife was not in the house at the time of the tragic incident.
Investigations by The Complete News also revealed that the deceased who was a Pastor in a local Pentecostal church had been struggling to make ends meet before the suspected suicide incident.
The Police have been invited to incident the tragedy and arrangement was being made to deposit the remains of the deceased at the mortuary.
Meanwhile, residents of Olafisoye street were seen discussing Adeyemi’s death in hush tone. Many were still shocked that the easy going young Pastor had gone.
According to findings, Adeyemi was an easygoing man who never made trouble with anyone in the neighbourhood while he was alive.
A reliable source who had known late Adeyemi since he got married told The Complete News that the graduate Pastor and his wife were engaged in full time church activities.
He said,” What a tragic end! Peter Adeyemi was an handsome, educated young man. He (Adeyemi) and his failed to yield to pleas to find something doing aside from church to sustain the family. But he and his wife refused. He insisted that he must solely do ministry work which God had called him to do”.
“I am aware he had been given eviction notice over his inability to pay about 3 years rent. Perhaps, the challenges were too overwhelming that was why he killed”.
