
A former minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT and a chieftain of the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC Mallam Nasir El-rufai has alleged that the presidency ordered private aircrafts conveying chieftain of APC and other dignitaries who came to witness the turbaning of the new emir of Kano, Mallam Lamido Sanusi from landing at the Aminu Kano Airport in Kano.
El-rufai who disclosed this to our correspondent in a telephone interview said that the he alongside
other dignitaries travelled to the ancient city by road.
The former minister also said police who claimed they were acting from ‘order from Aso Rock’ blocked major roads in the city with a bid of intimidating people who had come out to pay homage to the new emir.
Complete News had earlier reported the emergence of the former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Lamido Sanusi as the 14th emir of Kano. There was protest in the city by supporters of some of the contenders. The protest had since be contained by the police.
