
The All Progressives Congress, APC membership register that would be used for the shifted primary election in Osun State has been compiled at Tinubu’s Freedom House office located at Victoria Island Lagos.
According to credible source, the first son of the governor of Osun, Kabiru Aregbesola and one Bisoye coordinated the compilation of the register including registers for other South west states on Wednesday evening.
The source told COMPLETE NEWS that the Osun APC primary election scheduled for today, Thursday was shifted to Friday for the mutilated register to be ready.
Tinubu’s ally, Abubakar Kari, the APC Director of Organization was also part of the grand plan to compromise the process.
All these desperate acts, it was gathered were to enable Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, the preferred candidate of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Governor Rauf Aregbesola to emerge as the standard bearer of the party for the governorship election.
Oyetola is the current Chief of Staff to Governor Aregbesola.
Tinubu and Aregbesola reportedly favored direct primaries where all card carrying members of the party will participate in the selection of party candidate rather than a delegate system ostensibly to manipulate the process in favor of Oyetola.
Findings by this medium revealed that Oyetola, a layback politician is not popular among party leaders and members in Osun hence desperate moves to impose him at all cost to further entrench Tinubu’s interest in Osun.
Starting from Osun, direct primary election is the latest political gimmick of Tinubu to manipulate internal selection process in his favor ahead of 2019 general elections, the source told this newspaper.
Not fewer than 13 aspirants had kicked against the announcement of the direct primaries on Monday by National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
They raised constitutional and logistics concerns on the scheduled direct primaries.
They wondered how the National Working Committee could opt for direct primaries when aspirants and other Stakeholders don’t have the updated membership register and other guidelines for the exercise.
They also raised a poser on how Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC could effectively monitor the exercise in the 332 wards in Osun if not that the proponents of direct primaries were up to sinister mission.
According to them, why would Osun be an exemption when indirect or delegate system were used in Edo, Ondo and Ekiti in choosing flag bearers.
There were reports of intimidation of party chieftains and aspirants who were opposed to the anointed aspirant Oyetola.
