The Department of State Services (DSS) has read a riot act to politicians, Nigerians ahead of April 11polls warning them against making unguarded statements capable of promoting disunity in the country, adding that such acts will not be tolerated by the service.
NAN quoted DSS Spokesperson, Marilyn Ogar in a statement issued today in Abuja.
The statement said that the attention of the service had been drawn to “certain unguarded, inciting and divisive statements by some persons”.
It, therefore, advised Nigerians to strive to strengthen the nation’s democracy and work toward building a better country.
The statement thanked Nigerians for their peaceful conduct during the Presidential and National Assembly elections and urged them to shun all forms of violence before, during and after the April 11 polls.
“We call on all citizens to turnout and exercise their civic responsibility without fear as adequate security has been put in place to ensure their safety,” the statement said.
