
Hon Ipoola Aderemi Binuyo , a lawmaker representing Ife North in the Osun State House of Assembly has given graphical pathetic situation of the Osun finances. He confessed that the state lawmakers had not gotten a dime as salaries and allowances in the last seven months adding that most of the legislators depend on their wives for survival.
It will be recalled that Osun workers had down tool over non-payment of several months of salaries. Scores of humanitarian organizations including churches have been donating relief materials including food items to the depressed workers.
Binuyo, who is a Chief Whip of the Assembly was a Guest on ChannelsTV Breakfast Show , Sunrise Daily this morning monitored in Lagos pleaded with aggrieved workers and other stakeholders to show understanding with Governor Rauf Aregbesola . He stressed the Governor was not responsible for the situation.
The lawmaker while fielding questions on the dismissal of petitioner written to the Assembly by a serving Judge in the State, Justice Folahanmi Oloyede said the Judge’s allegations lacked substance. He accused Oloyede of being partisan and raising false alarm.
According to him, the Judge had claimed that Aregbesola was busy globetrotting and abandoned his duty as Governor. Binuyo said contrary to the allegation of the judge, Aregbesola last visited Cuba in 2005.
Meanwhile, in a swift defence of the Judge, Lanre Ogunlesi, SAN who is her counsel dismissed the claims of Binuyo describing them as baseless. Ogunlesi said the proofs of the Judge’s petition abound in the state. He however declined to disclose much information noting that the case is already in court.
