Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki and the presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has said Nigerians needs a young, energetic, ‘digital’, president.
Saraki said this in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital in his ongoing consultation of party members to earn their support.
The senate president who was obviously referring to the 75-year old incumbent Muhammadu Buhari said it was high time Nigeria joined the rest of the world who are electing young people to lead.
He said, ‘ We have seen that in France and other places. Nations are being led by younger people who are energetic. Nigeria needs a digital president’.
In close to one month after he declared to run for the highest office in Nigeria, Saraki has been consulting nationwide appealing to PDP members to vote for him at the party’s presidential primaries.
Nigeria’s ex-vice president, Atiku Abubakar, former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwakwanso, Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, former minister Aminu Turaki, Former Governor Attahiru Bafarawa are among contenders for PDP presidential ticket.
