Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN) has mourned the former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu, who died on Friday, praying the Almighty God to grant the soul of the ex-governor a peaceful repose.
Fashola who spoke at the LTV Blue Roof Hall, Ikeja when he rendered account of his administration’s stewardship for the 23rd time in the series of 100 days in office which he began at inception in 2007, called on the audience to observe a minute’s silence for the soul of the late Agagu.
Addressing a capacity audience consisting of members of the Community Development Committees(CDCs) and Community Development Associations (CDAs), corporate and private citizens, religious and traditional rulers as well as artisans and market women and men, Governor Fashola said he received the sad news of the passage of the former Governor in the morning before coming to the venue.
The former Governor of Ondo State who was the immediate predecessor of the incumbent Governor of the State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, ruled Ondo State from May 29, 2003 until February 2009 when a court voided his re-election due to electoral irregularities.
