The University town, Ekpoma in Edo State stood still today as the Founder and Senior Pastor of the Believers’ Loveworld , AKA Christ Embassy, Rev Chris Oyakhiloma was awarded an Honorary DSc , Doctor of Science by the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma Edo State.
Oyakhilome, who was described as a worthy alumni of the institution attracted top dignitaries including former and serving Governors to the ancient city to witness the award ceremony.
Dignitary include Dave Umahi, Ebonyi State Governor, Former Governor of Anambra, Mrs Virgy Etiaba, Professor Jerry Gana, former NCC Executive Vice-Chairman, Ernest Ndukwe, deputy Governor of Delta State, Otaro among others.
While acknowledging notable contributions of the popular cleric to the institution, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Mrs.) Cordelia Ainenehi Agbebaku commended Oyakhilome for equipping ten streets within the school with solar powered- street lights and also distributed hundreds of solar-powered lamps to students of the institution. Oyakhilome also built a Hall of residence for students of the school.
Agbebaku, also recalled that the renowned world evangelist built a 600 seating capacity auditorium for the school about 8 months ago. The auditorium was used to host the event.
Pastor Oyakhilome while responding thanked the authorities of the AAU for finding worthy of the award noting that he had turned down several awards in the past. He disclosed that the Honourary Award was the first award he accepted.
Oyakhilome renewed his commitment to development of the school saying, “I am glad to be identified with this University. The students of this school will always be special to me. I will always do all I could do to assist. I called on other alumni to also contribute towards the development of the school. There is so much we can achieve when we work together”.
