A consortium of 40 Civil Society Organizations, CSOs, has commended the Board and Management of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund, NSITF, on its successful turnaround of the Agency within a period of two years.
Presenting a letter of commendation to the Management of the Fund in Abuja, the Consortium led by Comrade Tosin Kakaki, Executive Director Conscience Nigeria, said “it is evident to all that you and your team have successfully breathed a new lease of life into a once comatose agency”
The group commended the Management for recently earning the ISO 270001 2013 certification of the British Standard Institute, BSI. The certification makes NSITF one of the few government and public organizations to be so certified in Africa. Only the Central Bank of Nigeria is so certified in the country.
With the BSI certification data and information offered by NSITF now ranks equal to other world class organizations in terms of Confidentiality, Dependability and Availability
Receiving the letter of commendation on behalf of the Board and Management of the Fund, Umar Munir Abubakar, Managing Director/ Chief Executive said the ISO 270001 certification was earned following the Fund’s successful deployment of the Oracle Social Service, OSS, portal in all of its operations.
He says the OSS deployment has ensured that its Employees Compensation Scheme, ECS, is information driven. He said it has also ensured credibility and transparency in all operations of the Fund.
According to the Managing Director/Chief Executive the Oracle System Service deployment will further guarantee that the roll out of Social Security to all categories of Nigerians sometime soon will be hitch free and world class
