
The newly sworn-in Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has announced the appointed of Mr Habib Haruna as his Chief Press Secretary. Haruna was a former editor of Sunday Independent.
In the same vein, Mr. Tunji Bello was also announced as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Mr. Samuel Olukunle Ojo as the Chief of Staff.
Bello, has been serving in Lagos since 1999. He was commissioner under the administration of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and also served under immediate past Governor, Governor Raji Fashola. Mr. Abiodun Bamgboye has been appointed Principal Private Secretary.
These appointments were contained in a statement signed by the Mr Ambode.
Bello, journalist and lawyer is a former Commissioner for Environment. He studied Political Science at the University of Ibadan and later went to the University of Lagos where he bagged a Masters in International Law and Diplomacy. He later read law in the same University.
His bustling journalism career started with the now defunct Concord Press Nigeria, where he rose from being a feature writer to become the Editor of National Concord. He was appointed Commissioner for Environment in July 2011 by the former Governor, Babatunde Fashola.
Ojo, the new Chief of Staff is presently the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Chief of Staff.
Aruna rose through the ranks in journalism to become the Editor of the Sunday Independent. He resigned in November 2014.
He and his professional colleague Mojeed Jamiu set up Upshotreports, an online newspaper. He studied Political Science at Bayero University and obtained a Masters in the same course at the University of Ibadan.
