The resident pastor of the Kingsway International Christian Centre, KICC in Nigeria, Femi Faseru has told Nigerians to stop electing politicians with a four-year vision.
The cleric argued that Nigeria was probably 50 years behind adding that a four-year vision won’t bring the nation out of the woods.
Faseru who said this in recorded telecast on Channels TV on Tuesday added that the nation’s ministry of information should not just pre-occupy itself with dissemination of information about the president’s activities but should be educating Nigerians on future trends and projections so that the people can plan accordingly.
He said, “The ministry of information should not just about concern about activities of the president. But should be able to tell Nigerians what the world is heading and what the world will be in 50 years so that the people can get themselves ready.
“That will save the nation from gathering solutions that would not not be useful when the time comes”.
The ICT expert turned pastor also challenged the media to focus more on other germane, critical issues that affect the nation rather than reporting trivial issues.
Faseru queried the news worthiness of president’s trip to his hometown Daura to celebrate sallah while many critical matters remained unreported.
The cleric also warned his parishioners against engaging in ridiculous acts just to get into the corridor of power and get connection. He said what they needed most is the guidance of God that will usher them into their blessings and not running after men ,begging for favours.
“As believers (Christians), we are not beggars .Stop running after people and begging to enter the corridor of power. And you know what, these people will eventually boast saying if not for us you will never had amounted to anything”, Faseru admonished.
