The governor of Ondo State, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, has declared that there was no backdoor integration of politicians who supported the Alliance for Democracy in the last Governorship elections in the state into All Progressives Congress, APC.
Akeredolu, insisted that ‘disloyal’ members must apply for registration afresh as APC members.
The Governor alongside his deputy, Mr. Agboola Ajayi, were inaugurated on Friday.
Akeredolu stated this at the dinner organised for him in Akure, the Ondo State capital, on Friday, after his inauguration.
He said, “A senator that won his seat on the platform of the APC chose to openly work for the Alliance for Democracy during the last governorship election. He later paid for a congratulatory advert for me in the newspaper; it looks strange to me. This is someone that didn’t even call to congratulate me.
“Tell the senator he is not a member of the APC. Everyone involved in anti-party activities can’t come back through the back door, they would have to go back to their various wards to reapply for APC membership cards and apologise openly. They should also do the needful.”
