
The national lerdership of the opposition, All progressives Congress, APC today in Yola, Adamawa state capital formally received the former vice president, Ahl Atiku Abubarkar, who defected to the party yesterday.
Atiku was welcomed to the party at a well attended rally tagged ‘All Progressives Congress, APC in Yola.
Former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who described Atiku’s defection as ‘coming back home’ lambasted the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP accusing the party of entrenching poverty in Nigeria. He urged the Adamawa people to vote for the All Progressives Party, APC which he claimed will rescue Nigeria from the “bad governance of the PDP”.
Atiku who spoke in Hausa thanked the leaders of the party for the heroic reception granted him. He called on the people of the state to vote en-masse for the opposition APC come 2015 saying party will fulfill the aspirations of Nigerians.
Former President Atiku defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC yesterday. Atiku had travelled nationwide consulting with key stakeholders on his political career.
He was the presidential candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria in 2007. He contested against late President Umaru Yar’ Adua.
Other dignitaries at today’s rally included; Adamawa State Governor Murtala Nyako, Interim National Chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande,National leader, Former EFCC chairman , Nuhu Ribadu, Chief Ogbonnanya Onu, Chief Audu Ogbe among others .
