Bola Tinubu Ambassadors, a support group of the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has said that President Muhammadu Buhari was behind the political travail of the APC national leader.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Thursday signed by the national coordinator of the group, Akanbi Afonja queried Buhari’s silence over the alleged plot to demystify Tinubu politically if the President was not the chief architect of the rebellion.
The group warned the President not to destroy the party that brought him to power adding that no leader worth the name will watch while the party and major figures that were instrumental to his ascension to power get humiliated.
“If President Buhari is not the architect of the rebellion, he should tell us why is he keeping quiet on germane issues that can easily destroy the political party platform he rode to became the president.
“We are convinced because this is not the President Buhari we used to know before, during and immediately after the outcome of the presidential elections until he took oath of office with a speech to distance himself from those God used to help him get to power.
The political group further asked, “ is this the same way United State President Barrack Obama , Alpha Conde of Guinea Conakry, Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, Mohammodu Youssouf of Niger Republic, John Mahama of Ghana and many more keep quiet when it comes to issues that threaten the soul of their political parties”.
While noting that Buhari had abandoned politics for governance, the group cautioned the President that governance cannot survive with politics.
The group also took a swipe at a book written on President by a US don titled, ‘Muhammadu Buhari: Challenges of Leadership in Nigeria’, where the author claimed among other things that Tinubu was not instrumental to the selection of Prof Yemi Osinbajo as the Vice-presibent candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the 2015 general elections.
BTA insisted that Buhari could not have claimed ignorance of the ‘ distorted lies’ adding that President and his media team must have peruse the preview copy before production was authorized.
“We have to stop putting blames on the author of the book, because we strongly believe there is no way the book can go for production without the knowledge of Mr. President and his meedia team.
“The president must have defiantly gone through it from the front cover to the back cover like our Principal Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu would have done”, the group alleged.
