There was pandemonium today in Kaduna as irate youths suspected to be sponsored by Peoples Democratic Party stormed the swearing-in even of the new Governor, Malam Nasir El-rufai and pelted dignitaries with stones and other dangerous objects.
The venue was a Murtala Square, Kaduna State. El-rufai, apparently feared for his life abandoned inspection of Guard of Honour mounted in his honour.
Dignitaries were stoned include the Emir of Zazzau, Dr Shehu Idris, and other traditional rulers in the State.
Security operatives however swift into action to forestall total breakdown of law and order. Tear gas were fired to disperse the angered sponsored youths.
El-rufai had vow to probe his predecessor, ex-Governor Yero whom he accused of looting the treasury dry.
