There seems to be no end to the travails of the embattled senator-elect of Ogun East Senatorial District, Prince Buruji Kashamu. While still holed up inside his Lekki Mansion where NDLEA’s officials are keeping vigil to ensure his extradition to the Uinted States, another scandal has broken on how the Ijebu-born businessman allegedly forged documents for a landed property worth billions of naira in Ajah, a highbrow area of Lagos.
The family of the late Chief Ambali Bakare accused Kashamu of fraudulently converting about 300 acres land in the Ogombo area of the state to his own.
A representative of the family, Shafiudeen Bakare, protested to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Iwe Irohin, Press Centre, Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta, Ogun State capital claiming that authentic documents of the disputed land are in the family’s custody.
“We are here to speak to the world on the fraudulent purchase of our land at Ajah by Buruji Kashamu under the business name of Bukas Kasmal International Ltd. We have been deprived of this land, and we have come to raise alarm.
“When some of those who purchased the land took him to court, the court ruled that we, the original owners should be in court and not a third party. So, we have been making arrangements to revisit the case by heading for the courts to get justice,” Bakare said.
