Edo state was agog today as top Nigerian Politicians, socialites and notable business tycons found their ways to Iyamho, Etsako West Local Government to witness the wedding of the state Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
The Governor married a beauty queen from Cape Verde. He lost his wife, Clara and mother of his children five years ago.
Those in attendance include: President Elect, Gen Muhammadu Buhari, his wife Aisha, Vice President Elect, Professor Yemi Osibanjo, Speaker of the House of Reps, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, Cross Rivers State Governor, Liyel Imoke, Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta state,National Leader of the APC, asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Dr Samuel Ogbemudia, former head of state, Gen. Yakubu Godwon, Alike Dangote, Captain Hosa Okunbor, Femi Otedola, Chief Tom Ikimi, Gen. Charles Airiavbere, Engr. Members of the Edo state Executive Council was led by the Deputy Governor of the state, Dr Pius Odubu, Chief Judge of Edo state, elected members of the state and National Assemblies and many others.
Former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon who was the Chairman of the occasion hailed the Comrade Governor of taken a new wife after demise of his wife.
While speaking about his new wife, the Governor described her as a very ” understanding, caring and loving lady and also thanked his family for the support given to him to remarry.
Elated Oshiomhole further declared that, “This is something that one is happy about. One is also happy that I have friends across all political divides, this occasion reminds me that across all divides we have friends and well wishers.
“She is very humble, she appreciates the nature of my job and life and, that it is, one comes back home late. Some times 3am, she understands my weaknesses, she is more or less the mother of the house, the one that has accepted to be the mother of my children.
“I am happy that all my children are at home with her and accept her as their mother even though she is not old enough to be their mother. She has accepted to fill that gap”.
