
The opposition All Progressives Congress, APC will practical ground Lagos, the nation’s commercial capital today as it embarks on a historic march around the city. The march which is tagged ‘Freedom Walk’ will be led by the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola his Osun State counterpart, Rauf Aregbesola and other top chieftains of the party.
The march, which kicks off from the Maryland area of Lagos at 8am to Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere in the city.
The Coordinator of the APC Campaign Organisation in Lagos, Mr. James Faleke, in a statement issued yesterday claimed that Lagosians and Nigerians were ready for change adding that the one-million-man march was to prepare the minds of supporters of the party for victory ahead of the polls.
Faleke said“I want to say that Nigerians have made up their mind and there is going to be a change at the centre by the grace of God. We are also using this occasion to tell the PDP that Senator Musiliu Obanikoro is not the best product they can offer. His role at the Ekiti election is still being queried.
“During the walk which will be flagged off by our National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, other APC leaders including Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, the Lagos governorship candidate Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode and our performing Governor, Babatunde Fashola, and Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State and party leaders at the national and state levels will participate.
“The walk will commence from Maryland through Ikorodu road and will terminate at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere. The walk will commence by 7 am and we are hoping that before 12 noon, it would have been rounded off”.
