The Appeal Court sitting in Ado Ekiti today reserved judgement in a case filed by the All Progressives Congress, challenging the victory of the governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose in the June 21 governorship, 2014 poll.
Chairman of the five-man Appeal panel, Justice Abdu Aboki ruled that the court was reserving judgment till a later date to be communicated to the interested parties via their Lawyers , having listened to submissions of the counsels to the parties involved.
The Election Petitions Tribunal had on December 19, 2014 upheld Fayose’s election and dismissed the APC petition.
Fayose defeated the then incumbent governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi in the poll, which threw up the present litigation.
Respondents in the appeal filed by APC are Peoples Democratic Party (1st), Fayose (2nd), Independent National Electoral Commission (3rd), Chief of Army Staff (4th) and Inspector General of Police (5th).
