Chief Bode George and a former minister of state for Defence Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, today called on Lagosians, to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan and the party’s governorship candidate Mr Jimi Agbaje in the coming general elections.
Speaking during a well attended campaign rally in campus area of Lagos Island Obanikoro who spoke first, asked Lagosians not to be decieved by the antics of the All Progressives (APC).
He hinged this on the fact that the partys presidential canddate Gen Muhammadu is anti-Lagos. He recalled that the former Head of State, was responsible for the metro line project of the Jakande Administration.
He observed that the traffic gridlock been experienced in Lagos would have been a thing of the past if Buhari had allowed the project to succeed.
Continuing, the minister designate added that Lagos needs a rebirth to free it from the clutches of the APC.
He hinged on the fact Lagosians suffer more today in terms of basic amenities, after 16 years of the party.
According to a statement by Agbaje directote of media and publicity, Obanikoro called on Lagosians to vote for President Jonathan and the PDP Governorship candidate based on their pedigree.
George on his part desribed the coming polls as an avenue for Lagosians to free themselves from APC’s tyranny.
Specifically, he called on the people not to be deceived on the religion politics of the APC, adding that Lagosians tolerate all religion.
He further tasked them to support President Jonathan and Agbaje in the coming elections to enable Lagos win the battle against opression.
George said both hav e good intentions for Nigeria and deserve to lead the people at this crucial period of nationhood.
In his own speech, Agbaje lamented that APC national leader Senator Bola Tinubu abused Lagosians generosity by working against their interest.
According to him the former Governor had in the last 16 years side lined indigines of Lagos in terms of elective and appointive offices.
Agbaje however promised to reverse the trend by running a governemnt based on fairness and equity.
