As the 2015 general elections approach, the leadership of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has embarked on reconciliation mission.
Obviously due to the enormous influence the former president Olusegun Obasanjo wields within the political circle, the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party alongside the new returnee and former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel have asked the former President to forgive them.
Obasanjo, for months had distanced himself from the PDP activities and openly kicked against the second term bid of president Goodluck Jonathan. He accused the president of reneging on his agreement to serve only one term.
The PDP bigwigs said the President should regard members of the party as his children who needed to be forgiven after making mistakes.
National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, spoke on behalf of the party at the national headquarters of the party in Abuja on Wednesday.
Mu’azu spoke while receiving a former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Gbenga Daniel who defected from the Labour Party to the PDP.
