president Goodluck Jonathan has assured Nigerians that the report of the just concluded National Conference will be implemented.
The president gave the assurance in his independence Day address this morning.
He said his administration had turned around the economy of the nation citing the recent rebasing of Nigeria’s economy which placed the country as the largest economy in Africa.
Jonathan said in the areas of jobs and housing, his administration had been put machinery in place t address the problems.
The president also claimed that under his watch, extreme hunger had been reduced to half through food sufficiency programmes of his government.
On infrastructure, Mr. President boasted that roads, power plants, railway have been the focus of his administration. He mentioned the second Niger Bridge among others.
He said he intended to achieve freedom of economy expansion.
Jonathan urged political leaders and gladiators not to overheat the polity because of the ambition.
on the containment of deadly Ebola Virus Disease, the president said his directive to the minister of health, prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu made the feat possible.
He thanked various stakeholders who fought the scourge to standstill.
