The Publisher of a popular online newspaper, Premium Times, Mr Dapo Olorunyomi has challenged the embattled minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun to go court over the report claiming she forged her NYSC certificate.
Olorunyomi who spoke in Ilorin yesterday in Ilorin insisted that Adeosun exemption certificate is a forged certificate.
The publisher said this in response to a question from a member of the audience after he delivered a lecture, entitled “Independent Journalism At The Interface Of The Digital Transition” at the University of Ilorin.
He insisted that the investigation the news medium conducted evidently showed that the exemption certificate she parades was a forged one.
According to him,”we didn’t just publish the story in question,it was a product of indepth investigation and we have it on good authority that the certificate she’s parading is a forged one; we challenge her to go to court, we will meet her there” Olorunyomi stressed
He said that the newspaper carried out a thorough investigation before publishing the story, adding that the organisation would encourage Adeosun to go to court because that was the best way she could prove the story if she believed it was not true.
Olorunyomi delivered the lecture at the 9th Annual lecture organised by the Mass Communication Department of the university in memory of Mr Doyin Mahmoud, the pioneer Head of the department who died in 2009. Mahmoud, a respectable media executive was a Managing Director of the Independent Newspaper Limited, the publisher of Daily Independent.
