
60 years old PDP National Youth Leader: All we need is agility not age — Chieftain
A chieftain of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP ,Sundey Kundeinde, who is also the Lagos State Coordinator of PDP youth Vanguard has defended the party for electing a 60 year old, Malam Umar Garba Chiza as the National Youth Leader arguing that age was not a criterion but agility .
Kundehinde made this defence on a breakfast show TV show monitored in Lagos today. According to him, people should look beyond age in the appointment of the party’s youth leader but his agility.
There had been public outcry over the age of the Peoples Democratic Party National Youth Leader, Malam Umar Garba Chiza which many described as “absurd”. The choice of Chiza from NigerState also generated resentment among some youths in the party.
All Progressives Congress, APC has also made political capital from the controversy, justifying the reason why the party was a good alternative to the ruling party.
He maintained that the party leadership was convinced on the “agility” of the old man before making him the National Youth leader adding that he has not disappointed.
The party national Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur is 77 years old. Also, the chairman of Board of Trustees celebrated his 80th birthday last Sunday.
